Reimbursement physiotherapy

Do you need physiotherapy? Whether your treatment is reimbursed depends on your age and the disorder or ailment.

Physiotherapy up to 18 years old

The basic insurance covers 18 treatments of physiotherapy per disorder/ailment. Do you need more treatments? Then you can use your additional insurance package for extra reimbursement. Your physiotherapist will assess how many treatments are deemed necessary. Always check with the physiotherapist or with us if you need a referral from your doctor or GP first. Do you have a condition that appears on the list of conditions for physiotherapy and exercise therapy (in Dutch)? Then we will reimburse all the treatments from our basic insurance.

Physiotherapy from 18 years and up

Temporary ailments: reimbursement from the additional insurance

Do you have a temporary ailment? This is reimbursed by most of our additional insurance packages. How many treatments we reimburse, depends on your additional insurance.

How many treatments we reimburse, depends on your additional insurance. With your additional insurance, you automatically get a free, exclusive rollover of up to five unused physiotherapy sessions to the next year.

Other ailments: reimbursement from the general insurance

Do you need to visit a physiotherapist because of unwanted urine loss, claudication intermittens, osteoarthritis in the knee/hip joints, a neurological disorder, after an operation, or for a disorder that appears on the list set up by the government (in Dutch)?

You will need a referral from your doctor or GP. The physiotherapist will assess whether you meet the conditions for a reimbursement. Will you visit a non-contracted physiotherapist? Then, we do not fully reimburse the costs per treatment. You will always need a referral from your GP or doctor. You will pay the invoices to the physiotherapist yourself and claim the costs with us afterwards.
